This sounds like it was recorded on a dictaphone in a tiny tin shed before being saved as an 18kbps mp3 and played back on one of those mobile phones that kids piss people off with on buses. It’s pretty lo-fi. It’s also great, punky and poppy and even a bit jangly, from the same continuum as Pavement (to use a lazy, albeit accurate comparison). Cloud Nothings is 18 year old Cleveland based Dylan Baldi, plus some of his mates when he plays live. Based on this and the other 2 tracks they’re giving away over at the splendid RCRD LBL, he’s pretty much cornered the soundtrack for Kevin Smith’s next 30 movies about slackers not doing very much.
